Introduction

1. Oral Reading Drill: using First 

Step in Reading compilation

2. Review: Rhyming Words

- Teacher flashes a metacard with

a word, pupils give the word

that rhymes with it.  

Ex. dahon - kahon

Presentation

Activity

1. Motivation using a picture:

Mao kini si Iko. Kaila ba kamo

anang iyang gigunitan? Gusto ba

kamo makahibalo sa iyang

istorya?











2. Unlocking of Difficulties : 

Usa kini ka butang nga gamiton sa

pagkuha ug isda? Unsa kini?

Teacher writes the answers on

names of persons(tawo), animals

(hayop), things(butang), and

places(lugar).

Practice

Application

1. Fishing Activity

Pupils use an improvised bingwit

(fishing rod)

to get fish cutouts in the DIY

improvised aquarium. The back

of the fish has a name of a person,

place, thing, or animal. The 

pupils will classify the words

according to names of tawo,

butang, lugar, ug hayop and place the

fish cutout under the correct category

on the board.

2. Word Search Game

Go around the room to search for

color coded paper cutouts with names. 

Pupils will classify them: 

orange - tawo,

yellow - lugar., 

red - butang

 green - hayop. 

Stick them on the board. 

3. Differentiated Activities

Grouping according to pupil's level.

Easy - Classifying picture words.

Average - Choose words from the box

and classify them.

Difficult - Pupils write names of

persons, things, places, and

animals themselves.
