Elements of the Plan - Methodology


Preparations

Introduction

1. Song : Lubi-Lubi (youtube video)











2. Sampayan Challenge: Arranging

Numbers 1-100 from Least to Greatest

and vice versa.

Using laundry clips, jumble numbers

from 1 to 100 on a clothesline. Pupils

arrange the numbers from least to

greatest or vice versa. Call 2 pupils,

one on each clothesline,

and whoever arranges the numbers

correctly, wins the game.








Presentation

Activity

1. Motivation: Who will celebrate

their birthday this month? Do you

know the date and day of your

birthday? Everybody,

can we sing a happy birthday

song to the birthday celebrants

of this month?

2. Presentation: Picture Story

- Teacher presents a story about a

birthday celebrant and party in a

series of pictures.

3. Ask: Who celebrated his birthday?

            What month was his birthday?

            What day was his birthday?

             Locate the month and day

             on the calendar on the board.

Analysis

1. Pupils take out from their

bags the calendar that Teacher

assigned the pupils to bring the 

previous day.

2. What do you call the one you are

holding?

2. What information do you see 

on the calendar?

3. How do you locate the month?

the date? the day?

4. What month are we now? What

is the date for today? What day

of the week is today? Locate these

on the calendar you are holding.

- Teacher mills around to see to it

the pupils know how to use

their calendars.

Abstraction/Generalization

A calendar tells the month and day

of the year.

Practice

Application

1. Teacher posts the calendar for 

the month of February on the 

board. Pupils look for the day of 

the following dates and tell what

day they are on the calendar.

April. Tell what day their birthday is

this year. (powerpoint with

picture of the pupils)

3. Group Activity: Pupils are grouped

according to their birth month.

- Setting up of behavior standards

when working in a group.

- Calling the members of each group

- Assigning activity area for each

group.

- Giving of Instructions: Each group

is given a chart with the month

and date of each member's

birthday. Using a calendar, each

one will write the day

of their birthday on the chart.

- Each group posts their chart on

the blackboard. Simple reporting will

follow by reading their output(chart)

loudly. in front of the class.
